Faster: Tl of Cl?

yo, i have a Tl, which is mine, and my dad has a Cl.. yea, i know im lucky. The Tl is is 2000, so its not a TypeS. but my punk dad didnt wanna pony up the dough for a ClS, so he got a straight up ClP, its was left on the lot so he got it for under $26, yea, i know, a great deal. so i was rocking his Cl today the handling is much better, the suspension and steering are tighter, but it seems like a very heavy car. i think the Tl may be faster, at least it seems faster from the start. well, i raced my freinds impreza 2.5 RS (that subaru that comes with a kit) its a I4, and its like a year old, not the new WRX. well we raced and i just floored it fom the start, nothing special, and it was totally tied from 0-30. And he has automatic! but then i raced him on the highway from a start and i revved the engine while holding down the brake, and started off in 1. and i had at least a car on him in like 5 seconds. but i think he was puling back bc there was a car coming up in his lane. either way, the Tl feels faster.

Well.....from the stats of the CL-S and TL-S, the TL-S is faster then the CL-S ..by just so little. But I'm not sure about the TL and the CL-P

The TL-S that circulated the mags was equipped with what one mag called an "experimental exhaust manifold" (*cough*Comptech Headers*cough*) so don't think for a minute that a TL-S is faster than a CL-S stock.

The drivetrain is identical and the weights are within 50lb of each other.

Hey Steve! Guess who? It's me! EliteAccord!!! I didn't know that....I wouldv'e expected the CL-S to be faster due to the fact that it only has two doors! :p thanks for letting me know. I'm finally leaving AccordV6.com....well...after I sell the car....

cool...are you getting a TL? I think I'm gonna trade in within 2 years. I want something that will run 14's pretty much stock, have 4 doors, and something that actually responds well to mods unlike our J30A1's

I just can't justify dumping thousands into my AV6 only to have it dyno in the low-170's and still hardly make mid-15's and I don't want NOS. I had much higher hopes for the car.

I need a V6 and a stick, so the next Maxima (can't fit in the current one) or Altima 3.5SE 5spd are the two front-runners right now. Hopefully Honda/Acura will come through with manual tranny's on the TL-S and Accord V6 - that would keep them in the running.

Here we go again. The TL/CL(S) are almost identical to each other. Its foolish to say one is faster then the other.

DerekH, That is the other EliteAccord. I am the one that used to be on SHO, AccordClub, AccordV6, Honda-Tech. hehe! He lives in my area too! Crazy! Two EliteAccord's from So Cali!

Steve, Yes, I'm getting the TL now. And I know exactly how you feel. I'm planning to get the HKS turbo for the TL. Something different. I'm more into Show. So the car won't be all powerful due to the auto tranny...etc. My "future" NSX will do in the future when it comes to power and style. Have faith Steve, you still got 2 years to go. I'm sure Honda has something up it's sleeve! I hope! I don't really like the new Altima...the taillamps! O_O

Depends on the driver... whoever get off the line first......
