Fantastic! Cracked Fog Light!

Go figure. I go for an oil change at the dealer today and get a call, SIR, your fog lamp lenses is cracked..... Oddly enough, I was just thinking how I wanted to add HIDs to them, and now $165 is down the drain. The dealer was so nice as to discount my 4th one now by $35 dollars as I have replaced it 3 times prior. How sweet of them don't you think. Can't wait to explain the $200 dollar oil change.

On top of all this, my dealer was so nice to inform me that they will NOT allow me use of a loaner car anymore, because I am under the age of 25. I can't wait until I get to fill out the 1 to 5 survey .........

that sucks.....you shouldn't let the dealer change out the lens at all....you can do it yourself with lexan lens replacement.....

and i think the "no loaner under 25" rule has something to do either with the dealer, you go to, or with your insurance company....i've been given loaners since i was 17.

I'm 21 and only got a rental last time. Maybe because it was because I only got a simple oil jet kit install that took 2 hours.

Go find an X-pel dealer and buy a few feet and cut pieces to fit on your fogs lenses.

My dealership refuses to give me loaners because I'm under 25. So far, I've gotten an Intrepid and a Lancer.

As for the foglight, you should buy some lexan replacement lenses and replace them yourself. It shouldn't be too hard, and it will resist cracking in the future.

yup lexans looks alot nicer too! and it doesnt shatter from a little piece of dirt like the factory ones do!

and ive been getting loaners since i first got my license. ive driven integras (because my first car was a RSX-S), and now when i give in my TL they give me TSX's. i love loaner cars, its fun to drive other cars once in a while.. that's as long as its a decent car

Damn that is a lot of times that you had broken housings. I dont suppose you have your old ones, I would love to buy your broken ones. You'll be able to cover the cost. Since you paid for the new ones, the dealer has to give you the old ones. It'll help you along your way to HIDs for your fogs.

Well I went back yesterday afternoon, after calling and yelling at both the sales manager and service manager. I not only got reassured that I would be able to get a loaner in the future (since my sales rep promised me them), I was given my fog lenses and oil change for free. Amazing what a small mention of the Honda Service Survey can do.......

Congrats. Saved a whole bunch of money. Do you still have the old broken ones? It'll put you over the top for a good HID kit for the fogs.

Yeah ... do a Lexan lens DIY. Took me a couple hours to do 'cause I didn't measure it closely enough with a saw so I had to use a Dremel for quite a while.

If you go into the group buy section ... they have a plastic film you can apply on top of your fog light housing to prevent cracking. Might be worth it for you!

Forget all that Lexan stuff. After both of mine cracked, I got a set of new ones and put this on http://www.weathertech.com/store/veh...pt_choice_id=0

Never had an issue since. Lexan is nice, but I didn't want to do all that work. For $50, my problem was solved. Came with 4 pieces. 2 for headlights and 2 for fogs, custom molded to lamp size and stupid easy to apply.

Is that X-pel similar to the 3M stuff people are using on their hood/front ends? How much do they run and are they user friendly? Thanks
