failed VA state inspection

They said:

1. my polarg corners aren't approved. I thought as long as i got the amber part in my headlights, i was ok.

2. my hyperwhite backups aren't approved.

3. my piaa 1700x in the fog light holes aren't approved. i need to get covers for them.

I can fix #1 and #2 easily. But what can I use as temporary covers for #3?

Liutang,
where did you take it to get inspected? Some shops are really strict and others are not. I would hate to give you a recommendation and have that turn out that they failed you as well but I have had good luck with the Car Connection which is located off of Walney. Take a right on Walney from 28 north and after you go through the wooded area look on the left hand side. The Car Connection is in one of the strip warehouse looking buildings before you get to Route 50. I used to be friends with the owner there years ago but he has since sold the shop to some other guys that I dont know. They seem pretty good though.

Hopefully, you can get this all taken care of soon. Dont you love VA???

Axe

P.S. I finally made my 100th post...YAH!!!

Thanks for the recommendation Axe. I got this inspected at the Mobil on the corner of 28 and 29. That guy was a ****. But since I already paid for the inspection and I still have my old bulbs, I'll just put those back in. But I really need to find something to cover up my fog lights. Any suggestions? They're PIAA 1700x.

liutang,
Sorry I cant come up with anything to cover the fog lights. I have a 99 thus dont have to worry about these things :-(
Good luck though. Perhaps we will see eachother on the road someday. You will know my car as it has axeman on the liscense plate...go figure :-)

Later,
Axe

Lightbulb Free Saftey Inspection??

I'm not sure about this one, but the guy I bought my 00 TL from last May at Pohanka (off rte 50, near the intersection of 50 and 28) told me they do free safety inspections on Acura’s. I'm not sure if this applies to only cars they sell, or if the car needs to be under warranty, but it may be worth it to call them and ask. But, the way the guy said it made it sound like any Acura, warranty optional. They're pretty cool up there and may not care about your piaa's. Their number is 703.968.6600. Whichever way you need to go, good luck!

Couldn't you simply use some duck tape or layers of electric tape to cover up the lights for now. It will look ugly, but soon as you get your inspection certificate you can remove the tape after you get home.
