Factory Bose Sub

Whats good people? I just picked up my 'ACK' a couple of weeks ago, so Im new to the TL. I want to install my Alpine head unit from my old car and I have been hearing that once i do, the bose sub will no longer work. Is this true? Any way to make it work with an aftermarket head unit?? I would apreciate the help!

just for a little clarification, since there is alot of works/doesnt work talk in that thread.

you only need to cut 3 wires in the amp harness behind the rear seat. the blue/green, orange/blue and the orange. cut a single rca wire, just as streeteffectz stated and connect to the b/g & o/b wires. then take the "remote turn-on" wire from the harness that comes with your new stereo, and run it back to the orange wire on the amp harness. thats it.

another member mentioned grounding the grey shield wire, but i didnt , and i dont get any interference at all.

if you have any questions pm me, id be glad to help.

Got a question tho, if you have a after market amp and sub already setup through a LOC, and your about to upgrade the HU with a after market, can you also keep the stock sub and also run another sub without using a LOC? Basically, Im getting the new head unit to replace the LOC of my amp thats connected to my L7.

you should be able to. ive never tried it. my guess would be to run the stock sub exactly how i stated above, and to wire the amp/L7 just as you would in any system.

just take the sub-out from the deck and split it. run the white to one amp and the red to the other... that way they both get signal. and then also split the RTO to both amps.
