Hey, I'm new to this forum... I read a couple of post here, but can't find an answer.

Just bought a 2000 TL, love the car, but the security is not working...
When i unlock the doors, the turn light blink to indicate the doors are unlocked. But when I lock the door with the remote, the door locks, but no turn light blink and the red security light do not come on by the door.

i check the switch on the hood latch and it works fine, all the door open/close indicators works fine(i mean when i open each door, the dash thing shows open, when all doors are closed, it show closed, including trunk).

Any idea anyone??? What could be the problem?

 

The blinkers only flash when the alarm is activated. If you pressed lock once, you only locked the car. Press it twice and the alarm will be activated. Make sure you press it twice until it flashes and also should beep.

 

I hit the lock key once, and the doors lock. I press it the second time, it makes that door lock sound again, but the lights still don't blink and the security led don't come on... i tried it 3 to 4 times on the remote... still no luck...

that's why i think something is wrong with the system....

 

yeah, same problem here. i had to get a few problems fixed (passenger side door handle, driver side rear door, it wasn`t aligned evenly, so it would hit something when closing it, bumper re-alignment) at the dealer i bought it from (Honda World) and my security system was working fine, but when i got it back, same problem you have. i press the lock once, it locks the door, and i press it again to arm the security system, but no sign of it working, it only locks the door again, the security LED on the drivers side door also doesn`t blink. i took it to an alarm/stereo shop and they said to have Acura check it out, but haven`t had the time. maybe someone on this forum knows what`s wrong?

edit: btw, where is the switch for the alarm at? when this happened i have been trying to find the switch but i can`t find it anywhere

 

Did you guys ever get this fixed? I've been searching to no avail.

 

The hood latch switch is probably the most common cause of alarm problems like this, as well as having the alarm go off for no apparent reason. That's where I'd start.
