exhuast question

i want to buy a comptech axleback exhuast for my 02 TL-P...but i wanted to know if the sound of a comptech axleback is the same as the catback...i know catbacks are the whole exhuast kit with piping and muffler and axleback is just muffler...would any of the sound of the muffler be different..??

I believe it would be louder if you change out the B-pipe (cat back) as opposed to axle back only.

if u only buy 'axleback' exhaust,it will not that loud......not like 'catback'....and the sound is big difference then the 'catback' one...

i got my Tanabe(Super Medalion Hyper)Catback Exhaust last month, and it sounds really loud......cuz its "catback"

axleback sounds will 'not' loud n deep than the catback one....

it wont be as loud (not much quieter though) all of which you could change by changing out the 2 factory resonators for 1 aftermarket

well if loud is what you want just remove the resonators completly. having the cat back over the axel back doesnt make it aton louder. the main difference was teh better pipe.
it cost me around 30 buck at a exhaust shop to get a piece of pipe to put into place of the resonator. BUT there is going to be a droan no matter what you do. Id suggest getting the axel back first, then if you want more go to a exhaust shop and talk to them to see how much they would charge to remove your resonators and replace it with a different size

the main reason axleback wont be as loud is because the exhaust resonator on the stock piping muffles ALOT of sound, so u can get the axleback, buy another type of aftermarket resonator (many ppl go with magnaflow), and have an exhaust shop swap that resonator in place of ur stock one.
