Are exhausts loud on the TL-S?

One of the things I appreciate in a TL-S is the quiet ride. What are your opinions on the overall sound of the car after it's been installed:

1. very loud
2. not noticeable
3. perfect

Also, are there significant sound changes in with Comptech headers and/or any cold air intakes?

Whoops, sorry I was talking about the sound of having an exhaust on your TL-S. I didn't realize I didn't specify until after I sent it!

It depends on what exhaust you put in your car. I have the comptech exhaust installed and it is not loud at all. Not noisy compared to those rice up civics and tegs you see on the streets. It just gives a deep growl, but not annoying. And my car has the AEM CAI as well and I think I actually hear my intake more than my exhaust.

I will have to agree...I installed the Comptechs on my car two nights ago...they're SLIGHTLY louder on the outside...not really noticeable unless you know to listen (idling)...and sound beautiful at vtec. They give a louder than normal hum from the interior...definitely not bad, and definitely not loud on the highway.

Yup, this is pretty much how I would review it too. They are louder at lower RPMs, so if you're cruising around town, some people may notice them (probably not most).

After reading about 50 of these type of topics I've come to realize that the sound the Comptech's produce are subjective. Some people like it, some don't... it's all personal taste. My advice is that if you're unsure, try to find someone local who has one (go to one of the tl.com meets) and hear it for yourself.....

To rate it based on your criteria, I'd go with #3... perfect.

I have heard that the headers do not add too much noise, but I know that the intake will, but only when you're in VTec range. If you're just cruising on the highway, etc., it's as quiet as stock. When you hit Vtec, the intake kicks in. Again, I personally love this sound.....
