Exhaust Tips

Have a 2000 TL-p with stock exhaust. I think it looks too plain and the exhaust is still in good shape so dont wanna buy the whole new package. What do you guys feel about just putting in a set of attachable larger exhaust tips. Will it effect the stock exhaust in any way, eg rusting.

Most TLers that upgrade their Tips have 3A Racing Exhaust Tips.
These are Slanted Bolt on Tips. Part# 62-2354 (3.5x9) or you can go with a bigger tip Part#62-2407 (4x9). You can find them at Pepboys for 20-30 per pair.

The bolts on these will rust, if you don't coat it with WD40 or buy galvanized bolts. The rusted bolts won't effect the muffler in any ways.

they dont make ur exhaust any louder. they just make it look nicer. btw i have pilot motorsport exhaust tips (8x3.5) slanted and they look great imo.. but 3a are almost the same so both are good. and yeah, the bolt will rust..

For the guys who have the back bodykit do those aftermarket tips come out far enough to see and does the top of the tip touch the rear bumper?

In terms of the length that they stick out that`s totally up to you. If you slide the tip all the way in then the tip will stick out almost an inch..if you have the kit in the back. You can always have it stick out more (ugly IMHO) by not installing the tip all the way in.

As for it touching the rear lip, again it can but it depends on how you install the tips...but generally speaking it won`t touch.
