Exhaust Tips

Does anyone know if the stainless steel exhaust tips that Tim sells are the same as originally come on the TL? Or are they larger or something?
Thanks

If you are talkin about these ones

The answer is no. These are made by 3A racing and are larger in diameter and longer than stocks. But IMO look a whole lot better than stock.

The stock one is held on by one 10mm bolt at the bottom.. but the 3A ones have 3 which you need to adjust so that the tip is centered with the pipe..

It's very easy.. shouldn't take you more than 30 min to do..
The bolts simply clamp onto the pipe..

even my mom could do this mod..

Certain brands such as Comptech are made for our cars. Just unscrew the stock mufflers and bolt on the new one. According to members here, it shouldn't take long

Will the Comptech's add any HP in comparison to the stock exhaust?

well some people could spot tips from a mile away..... another thing is that when you have a bigger exhaust but don't make the sound that you should be making, people will know.... just save up some money and get the real stuff... there are exhausts out there that does not need any welding... just bolts on... very clean and convinient

Thanks for the info. Are those just tips in that picture or is that an entirely new exhaust system?

Just like Eric said, those are just bolted on tips.

I paid $49.77 plus $5 shipping from this website.

http://www.acura-tl.com/search/resul...pageid=exhaust

It's the stainless steel exhaust tips. I bought them because one of my OEM tips fell off, and I didn't think it was worth paying 50 bucks at the dealership for 1 tip, so I bought them here.

I wish I could order some new exhausts, but I don't have enough dinero, so I just got the tips for now. Tim sent them via UPS and I got them after 4 or 5 business days. You get a tracking number via email, so I knew when they would arrive.

Switch out the bolts that come with the 3A tips. They come with really cheap soft bolts that strip easily. Go to your hardware store and pick up 6 stainless steel bolts.....they will tighten down much better without stripping.
