Arrow Exhaust Tips

Thanks you TypeSDragon, because of your post, http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...threadid=20806 I ordered a stoc http://www.acura-tl.com/search/resul...id=exhaustking order of this tips, and I must say, they are very nice.
I put them on my TL (still just have stock exhaust), and they look so much better then the stock tips!
Plus they go all the way up to the muffler, not just on the ends like the stock ones do.

Anyone thinking of doing this, its very easy. WD-40 the bolts on your stock tips, and if the bolt brakes, like mine did, just grab the tips and twist and turn, and pull till they come off.

Here is a photo of TypeSDragons. I have yet to take pictures of mine

I have also added them to the Exhaust Page above, if anyone would like to get them.

Cool

Yeah, this was definately one of the easiest mods you can do.. took only about 15 min total to put them on.. the only trick is if you get the slanted ones, to get the top completely centered pointing up.. also to get stock pipe to be centered in the middle of the tip, the stock has a slot for the pipe while the tips do not.. but there are 3 bolts you can use to adjust it how you want it..

While I was at it, I also adjusted the hanging pipe with a zip-tie..

Without the body kit, the tips stick out about 1/2 inch.. with the kit, it would be perfectly flushed I think..

No noise whatsoever. It's simply replacing your stock ones with larger ones.. the pipe stays the same, so the sound is exactly the same as stock.

I guess the reason I asked is because I was just at Schucks Auto about one week ago looking at Tips. They carry the 3A Racing tips as well, and they have over 12 different styles. 3 of the coolest looking ones were called "Perfomance Exhaust Tips" which I dont understand how a "Tip" could bring any kind of performance gain. The only problem was that these "Performance" styles had a ton of little holes on the inside, which the guy said makes it loud, like a little ricer civic. So I was just wondering which 3A Racing model Tim is selling. I will definately buy it through Tim, just wanted to take a look at it. As I remember, the good ones were selling for $30 each at Schucks.

no noise at all, and these say Performance exhaust tips on the packing as well. The part # is on the site, if you want to go back and look in person

Most parts we stock on the west and east coast, then we ship from the nearest location the order is going to, but this part I only have on the east coast, so it will be about a week all the way to WA, can't get much further from me
But you will be able to track your order tomorrow, that I promise you

Tim,

I just ordered these tips from you. How long do you figure to ship all the way here to Surrey (Vancouver area), BC? Within a week?

Thanks a lot for looking into it. Also, u ship via UPS?

Tim (or anyone else who would know), would these tips fit on a '98-'02 Accord Coupe? This is exactly what I've been looking for...I don't want to drop the $$$ for an entire exhaust, and I really don't want to lose any nice quiet sound!!

Here's another good question for y'all.....
The stock tips fit perfectly over the stock pipe, so that you dont really see the pipe inside. Now I've seen some gay lookin ricers with a 4" tip over a 1" pipe.... even though the pipe was back inside the tip about 5 inches.... you could still see it when looking at the car from behind. When I put these 3 1/2 tips on, will I see the stock pipe in the middle of the tip? I know that because our pipe is 2" and this tip is 3 1/2.... it wont be that big of a difference. Did anyone cut there exhaust pipe back an inch or two just so it wasnt as visable? Is this a good idea, or something I should strongly avoid?

umm.... so should I cut the pipe back a few inches? yes no? I want to avoid seeing a pipe inside the tip if possible. Is there anything bad with cutting your pipe back?

NO

Don't need to cut it, the tip is long enough to hide the pipe so you can't really see it from the back.

awesome! Thanx guys... I guess I'm just too cheap to get the "Real Exhaust" right now..... maybe next spring though. But hey, you gotta admit that it's a good use of $50 for something that makes the car look really sweet! I dont have many mods on my car right yet, probably rims and tires coming in the spring. I mean right now it's already a fast car, and so you might as well have a little somethin flashy for all the little ricers you blow past. So I say give them the dignity of knowing a sporty car blew them away rather than an "old mans" car. I remember that feeling, and I hate that feeling!
