Thumbs up Exhaust Tips

Thanks you TypeSDragon, because of your post, http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...threadid=20806 I ordered a stocking order of this tips, and I must say, they are very nice.
I put them on my TL (still just have stock exhaust), and they look so much better then the stock tips!
Plus they go all the way up to the muffler, not just on the ends like the stock ones do.

Anyone thinking of doing this, its very easy. WD-40 the bolts on your stock tips, and if the bolt brakes, like mine did, just grab the tips and twist and turn, and pull till they come off.

Here is a photo of TypeSDragons. I have yet to take pictures of mine

I have also added them to the Exhaust Page above, if anyone would like to get them.

Thumbs up

Those do look sweet. I still like the sound of the Comptech, but for those who do not want to layout the cash, this is a great option!!

Just bought 'em.

Also, if you put some anti-seizing compund on the bolts, it will make it easier to take them off in the future.

I have the very same tips except mine are fully round...no slant cuts. One warning though, make sure you examine both pipes completely, as sometimes the welding located inside the pipe might be on top of the pipe (underneath where the logos are located) while other times they would be located right at the bottom where water can collect. If you are gonna buy 2...just make sure the welding is located at the same spot to keep consistency. Mine isn't, so if you look real close, you can tell the pipes arent exactly the same.

I just ordered the tips. They are the first thing I've ordered from Tim. They look good, and I would rather buy from him than go to a store that doesn't care one bit about me. I plan to give him more business, too: springs (not sure which ones, yet), sways (Comptech or Eibach), wheels (Giovanna Cosica 18x7.5, unless something else catches my eye), tires (Kuhmo's), and maybe a Wings West lips spoiler, but I would have to figure out where to get it painted DWP.

I think I was one of the people that stated all this talk about the tips, being that most get comptech just for looks and sound, because if your doing it for power, that's silly because at $500 plus it makes none. This is a cheap way to get the looks part Too bad I was one of the last to do it though, lol, but I just got some right before you posted these on the site, douhh!

I got some at the car parts store, SS also, though not slash cut. It also looks doubled wall, but the core is solid, so tha was good also. These look sweet though, will post mine soon.

Snook,

Have mine gone out yet?

Also, I have an idea about concerns about seeing the pipe inside the tip. What if after you install the tips, you spray the inside of the tips and the pipes with black paint?

Yes, refer to your confirmation email

Sure, you would paint them, do a search on the forum, alot of people have painted their exhaust tips with high temp paint...

On most tips you can't see the pipe inside, unless you get down and stare into it with one eye

SinnedTL, they are stainless steel which is better than chrome, and they are bolt on. You may need to WD-40 your bolts, and put a little muscle into it to get yours off, but they will. Order them and see what you think.
