any one have pics of comptech exhaust from a standing view, like if you were to just casually walk by the car how would they appear?

And aren't comptechs the quietest? Is it possible to get exhaust that make you car sound like the g35 or maybe a throaty bmw? Not ricey at all...I just don't know which ones sound like what.

Does it look bad without a body kit?

someone told me once that my exhaust sounded a bit like the G35C

exhaust resonators are small mufflers you can put somewhere between the cat and the mufflers of your car to quiet down ur exhaust.

they are actually really close like 1/2" the one on the right side hung lower due to me having the resonators cut out and the pipe was cocked a little causing the one to hang lower. i since redid it myself and its all better now

exhaust resonators are placed along the pipes to quite the sound of the exhaust. There are two, a big and smaller one...removing them would just make your exhaust alot louder.

they are almost exactly the same size as stock with the exception of the tips. they arent that quiet either. the best part about the comptech is you can get the quiet tip inserts

I just put on my axel-back Comptech. The price sucks to be honest.. You can get a full catback for the amount you'll pay for CT axelbacks.

The CT looks close to stock in terms of shape, but the tips are noticeably larger and MUCH shinier since the WHOLE muffler's polished steel, not just the tips. Just walking by the car, you'll notice both mufflers gleaming.

IMO, the CT does NOT need the quiet tip inserts. I have very conservative tastes, yet even I found the exhaust to be on the quiet side. The exhaust sounds AWESOME when you first start the car, but it's not really that noticeable from inside the car at idle. It's loudest at around 2-3k RPM, and not noticeable a WOT (but this might be due to my CAI which is loud as hell).

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I really like the looks and sound of the Apexi and the price was right - $355 catback on Ebay! I'm doing a bunch of mods. I'll post pictures of all of them when I'm done soon.

Comptech Cat-Back

Kinda loud for my tastes, although I have a Type-S with the supercharger and headers so I'm sure that adds to the noise. Sounds awesome under WOT though.

U can't buy it anymore, it's discontinued... u have to get lucky on ebay to find one... just like dave did. when i bought mine they were pushing WS2 exhausts. Hopefully they are maing WS2 for the TLs. I was told the the rep that it's the same exhaust but the tips are thicker

get the quiet tip inserts. they do make a big difference (i have them in for daily driving because with out the exhaust resonators it can get anoying in slow driving and long hwy trips)
