Cool exhaust mod

Hello all.....Frequent visitor, first time poster.

Does anyone have any experience/advice with eliminating the small muffler that is ahead of the exhaust split? Any benefits in sound or HP?

hi Sho, I had that resonator removed in my Accord and it was much noisier without it. I dont think there was any real noticable increase in power either. I ended up putting in a borla exhaust and then adding a 21" resopnator to bring the sound back down (Borla's are really loud) I'd recomend that you look into a complete exhaust system so as not to run across those issues. Good luck!

Before the 3.2 TL I drove a 1993 Taurus SHO (5sp, Eibach, Dynomax cat-back)., which I really liked, but it had about 150K miles on it. Looking for a replacement, I found that the Acura was best sedan on the market with similar performance that was not real expensive.
The Dynomax for the SHO was just a straight pipe from cat to "Y", which eliminated the middle resonator. It was not much louder than stock.

Cool

I wouldn't recomend getting rid of the resonator...Without it the car is very loud and the increase is very minimal...

Well, I don't know how it is in TX. But here in CA, straight pipe is very illegal. It's too friggin loud. Regardless of the law, I'd say, keep the cat... or it's your ears you're talking about.
