Exhaust leak @ header/engine block interface
I've developed an exhaust leak that seems to be coming from the header/engine block interface. Its the rear header, and the leak seems to be only on the passenger side of the interface. Normally it wouldn't be a huge problem, just go tighten up the passenger side bolts, however when I went to do so the other day, it seems the nut for the far bolt has come off. This is most likely the origin of the problem, as the header was allowed to bend slightly away from the engine, allowing the exhaust leak.
I tried using some high temp exhaust sealant, however the problem with this is that it is extremely brittle when it hardens, and since there is some motion of the engine and exhaust system, plus vibrations, the sealant cracks and won't provide a permenant fix.
Any other ideas??? aside from drilling out the broken bolt, re-tapping, etc etc.
Excelerate - if you read this thread, let me know what kind of "quick fix" you could recommend, possible do for relatively low cost maybe? I'm getting a new car in May, but I'd like to private sale this one so it'd be real good to fix the leak.
Thanks for any input

I would remove the header and see if there is any thing left to grab onto. If there is it should turn out. If not it will have to be removed via other methods. Dont try to patch it. You need to fix it.
