Exhaust ?

hey guys, im debating between getting a mugen exhaust or going with something more along the lines of a comptech.

i have a few questions first though

anyone here seen the mugen on a TL?
what will be the difference in preformance mugen vs. comptech?
any reasons not to do one or the other, beciedes the $1300 for the mugen w/o shipping?

thanks for any info you all can give here.

Mugen parts are nice....but there is no way I would pay $1300 for an exhaust!!!! Just get the comptechs.....they look better imo and are about half the price!

comptech

mugen

???? i think the mugen would look much better
I am really wondering if there will be a proformance issue from one to the other, if not i will go with the cheaper

If I have 1300 to spend, I might as well buy the headers. Exhaust are only for looks and a couple of hp gain.

VinTL,

What looks better? Consider that the twin loop is stuffed underneath the bumper so you'd never see it. Well I guess maybe the mechanic that puts your car on a lift would enjoy it

I think the tips looks nasty on the Mugen.

are you saying mugen headers or just a good pair of headers?

are they really worth getting alone though w/o an after market exhaust though?

imo i think the tips look a little nasty too

Mugen doesn't make headers. Comptech is the only one so far that makes them for the TL.

You don't have to put exhaust with header, in fact I like header alone w/o exhaust. I experienced it before, after removing exhaust with just DC header on my Accord, I felt more punch at low end.

go to www.value-caraudio.com Value sells it for much less for the mugen exaust I think 900.00

as for the diffrence in the two exausts, I have had the mugen since I had 2 k on the car and I hate how the car sounds with out them got a loaner tl type s while car in for service and wow what a diffrence the mugen makes. The sound is softer then stock and much deeper, worth the extra dough in my opinion the car is a luxury car why put on an exaust that makes it louder. Most people with the comptech love the sound of it, but I've herd more then one state after having a TL loaner the loaner was so much quiter than the comptech. I like how the tips look too they are just big enough not too big not to small. They are a bit to keep looking good, but worth it.

imho get the mugen from value and then the comptech headers that's my next mod.
