I was driving down the main drag (Hardy Street) in my hometown when a Honda EX Coupe V6 passed me. He had his car all modified evidently. Had the tail lights, shiny mufflers which by the way I thought sounded great. I think he had a five speed because it sounded like he was running through the gears, I may be wrong about that though. Anyway he eased over into my lane cutting me off. I was right behind him as we were exiting to the right onto another four lane. I heard him gun his throttle. I was in SS second gear and gunned it also squealing the tires just a little. I passed him very quickly and easily despite his attempts. Traffic was heavy so I stayed in my lane and he passed all the traffic illegally by using a turn lane. This effectively broke off the encounter prematurely. I guess he had enough. Should I feel bad for picking on my little brother like this? It was a lot of fun and I am sure he was surprised by the performance of my Type-S. All I have is headers on mine.

 

He just chose a wrong target.

 

all v6 accords are auto.

 

I raced my friends 2000 Accord V6 Sedan with Comptech headers, Injen Intake, and Dual Focus Exhasts. I felt so bad becuse he's put so much money into his car and he thought he could give my TL-S a race. Well, it turns out the race wasn't even close. I blew his doors off with ease. :o

 

Nice kill... Time to teach those V6-Wannabe a lesson... Doesn't EX V6 only available with automatic transmission??

Accord V6, LX or EX are easy kills. They are made to run smooth, when you floored it, it sounds loud and the rpm's shoots up but the car does not shoot forward.

 

If someone wants to play, then play! It is fun, especially when there aren't attitudes and ego's flying, win or lose it should be fun trying.

 

yep.. unfortunatly our Accords are geared as bad as the TL's.. the TC and Tranny are horrible (plus its only 4 speeds).. I was actually able to take a stock TL (not TLS) cause of teh TL's 4th gear (i was still in 3rd) , but forget about TLS.. a modified Accord V6 would not be able to take it unless it had NOS or boost of some sort. Just for comparison, ZodiakTL consistently runs about a second faster at the drag strip than me
And as far as mods.. i saw a 2001 accord V6 at englishtown a few weeks back. . had nice shiny exhausts.. and ran a 16.9 (twice) which is slower than my pretty much stock 98 V6 (i have an AEM short ram)

 

he's right! no v6 accords comes in stick. therefore what u r hearing is i think him lifting up his gas

 

Man I drive a 98 Accord V6 and I would not even try to race a TL-s. Even if I had all the mods for it I do not think it could take it. Thats one reason I might get a TL-s because its a waste to mod mine. The Accord you raced could have been a 5sp if they had installed a dual exhaust and put a V6 badge on(Unless you did not see the V6 badge) but if not then ya the V6 only has a 4sp auto. I want a TL-s but all the dealers in my area have no silver ones yet. Hey nothing wrong with putting down your little brother sometmes, its there loss anyway.
