Ever wanted someone to run into you?
As some of you know my TL has over 100K miles on it and still looks great except for the front end below the headlights, which looks sandblasted from all the miles. Can't really see it at dusk but on sunny days looks like an old heap. So I dropped by to see my 82 year old dad and what does he do? Backs right into my car with his Land Rover! He comes in feeling bad and all apologetic and says "I'll pay for it, I just didn't look". So I come in and he thinks I'm gonna be bent out of shape but I say "thanks dad", I've been waiting for something to happen! We had a good laugh and decided it was no big deal. Damage was light but it will need alittle filler and re-painting.

That is what I'm gonna do - Bumper cover is $236 at the dealer and I'll get it painted and put it on myself. Taking it off took ten minutes.

I havent gotten my Tl yet, but on my 98 Grand Cherokee i backed into someone in a parking lot and put a crack in the rear bumper. So everytime people tailgate me(which is my biggest annoyance on the road) i just want them to nail me.

hell friggin yea....i like my 99 and everything..but damn it'd be nice to get into an 03 TL..
i just need my car to be parked somewhere..and i happen to be walking out when a huge semi backs into it...therefore totalling it and i will witness it, and the semi is owned by a big corporation so insurance and all that should be a problem...
sound farfetched??...this happened to my friend...and fortunately, the semi driver left a note on his windshield, giving him insurance claim information and the works....

Cleaning up Headlights
If you headlights are plastic, which i think they are follow this tutorial from out Legend forums to clean them up substantially with fine grit sandpaper and some 3m Liquid Rubbing Compound...

Got my bumper cover today from the dealer, paid $236 for it. Then I went two miles away to a good body shop - they will paint the cover for $253 which includes sanding down my scatched up lower spoiler (stock) and of course painting it too. Then at home I'll re-attach the lower piece to the cover and then bolt on the whole thing. Figure I saved maybe $300 or $400 over just driving the car to a body shop and saying "fix it".
