Enough with the tranny failures !!!

Hey guys,

I'm proud to say that I have recently purchased a second hand 2003 3.2 TL with 82 000km. After reading your many pages concerning the tranny failures (there's like 44 pages now...), I've decided to make a new thread about all the TL's that HASN'T had a tranny failure. Hopefully, that'll encourage people to buy Acura !

By the way, I checked out carfax for my car and everything is in tip top shape, so I'm real happy about that.

Anyways, let the positive posts begin !

Welcome to Acurazine

Best advice to you is to register your car at:https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura
See if the oil-jet kit was installed on your tranny through that site along with any other recall's for your vin number and make sure to log any maintenance you do to the car (if you have a warranty).

That said, the TL is a great car and I wouldn't let the tranny issues scare you too much. If it goes you'll get the latest revision of the replacement trannies and should be set for the future. Maybe when the extended 109k/7yr trans warranty runs out, buy a 3rd party driveline warranty and forget about it.
