Angry Engine Replacement 2000 3.2 TL

Hi,
Looks like I need to replace the engine on a 2000 3.2 TL.

Has anyone had experience in pulling this engine from the car? do you typically pull it from on the top? or from the bottom? has anyone seen a youtube video on this? I have the chiltons manual, but??

Thanks

What happened to the engine? Pulling it from the top is easier.

Thanks for the quick reply, it threw a rod through the oil pan. The driver at the time stated that the car hit about 6,000 RPM before the engine died. an inexperienced driver, not sure if he knew what actually happened or if the tranny went first, perhaps he was screwing around with the shifter, I don't think a timing belt would cause lower unit damage? the body is in great shape, the car is good and I like the car. ( I recently sold it to a relative). and had no problems with it. my thoughts are to pickup a salvage yard engine with low miles, put a new timing belt in it and reinstall.

Yep, Take the hood off and pull the trans and engine together out the top.

Pulling from the top is the best bet. Ive done it from the bottom once, huge pain.

For that to happen the car wasn't well-maintained especially on its oil changes.
