Nah...they're not all the same. There are premium filters from Mobil, etc, that are superior to the average regular Fram stuff. Premium ones...well, they're supposed to filter better on the first pass. They use synthetic material inside instead of the paper ones, and have stronger casings. I use the standard honda oil filters for our cars. I think most of us here do.

There are plenty of websites that discuss synthetic and regular motor oils and filters, the jist being you can buy a lesser filter and use regular oil (as long as it's 5-20, or 5-30 every OTHER oil change) IF you change your oil every 3000 miles or so. If you want to go to 5000 miles between changes, a premium oil filter (such as Honda, Amsoil, or Mobil1) and synthetic oil is the only way to go. For the difference in money and peace of mind, it is worth doing (I only have 1500 miles on the odo and I am keeping to the first recommended change at 3750...)
