Engine Mount control system?

I have looked everywhere for detailed info on how the system works and what it does. I replaced the front mount with a mount that does not include the vacuum connection and am wondering if I should just plug or disable the entire system or if this engine mount system actually does anything substantial. Anyone know?

I have the service manual but just tells how to test it not much more. If I have to I will buy an Acura mount and replace it but just don't really know how necessary it is.

If you replaced both mounts then unplug the solenoid and plug the vac lines. If you only replaced the front then just plug the front vac line

Thanks for the info fsttyms1. So I take it the system is not all that valuable then? I will plug and then dump the rear as well down the road. I am in the middle of a timing belt/motor mount (passenger and front)/driveshaft/brakes/fluid change replacement marithon. WooHoo!

phee.. engine movement was my clue. It should be tight. When I took out the side mount it was deteriorating badly (inch or so of play). The front was oozing oil. I think if you have as many miles as mine (120k) and never replaced the mounts just do it. They are probably shot. Just my opinion.

Search button. There are threads on how to test and what to look for along with part# and where to get them. They wear out fast, and most dont even realize it. Typical failure starts around 50k

Thanks

Sorry I guess I forgot to say thanks for the help.

I have completed my Timing Belt, water pump, motor mount, drive axle, rotors & pads, new belts adventure.

Feels a bit rougher with the non hydrolic mounts but not a big diff. Getting the infamous PS noise as well. Oh well. Only tightend from squeel to no squeel for the belt but who knows. All else seems fine

Thanks again for the help

My front and side (Passenger side top mount) are shot. (99 TLP with 89,000 miles) How I found out what it was=I raised the hood put my car in drive, applied the emergency brake and blocked up the front wheels. Gave it a little throttle while under the hood while the car was in DRIVE and could see the side engine mounts move and noticed that the rubber was split on the upper passengers side mount and it was moving quite a bit. The front motor mount would raise up at least 1/2 inch or more when I applied a little throttle. Also noticed that when I would start out in the car with a little extra throttle that there was apparant engine / tranny movement. I don't drive hard= no jack rabbit starts etc. They just fail! Ordering new ones today.
