Engine Motor Mount Replacement - Issue Lifting Engine

It was well past time to replace the engine mounts in my 2002 Acura TL 3.2 non-S.

The front mount came out with little trouble. A little wiggling was needed, but fairly easy. Inspection of the mount... it was shot.

Installation of the new mount has introduced a problem. Jacking the engine won't separate the engine from the frame enough. I am short about 1/4 inch. Basically the amount the old mount was sitting low.

Continuing to jack the engine starts lifting the car.

Suggestions?

Thank you for the suggestion. It was next thing I was considering, too.

After breaking the side mount free (removing the center pin), the engine released. It was easy to lift then.

Mounted the front no problem.
Side was now off by the ~1/4 inch. Used a couple bars to line up the bolts.

Fully expecting the engine to shift into a better place once I fire it up.

The side mount always needs to be unbolted for the Front or Rear Mount replacement.
Are you sure the rear engine mount doesn´t need replacement? they like to go at the same time and the REAR MOUNT is the hardest of them all.

Yes, the rear is upcoming. Concerning the mounts, the front, side, and front-trans are done. Remaining are the back and back-trans.

I recently did mine too, the rear is pretty hard. If I had to do it again I could do it a little easier but it's just such tight space, I used a lift and it honestly didn't help to much.

The trick to the rear mount is to install headers at the same
time for clearance lol. At least it helped me a LOT.
