engine light comes on when i installed my VAFC
After installing my APEX-i VAFC the engine light and sometimes the TCS light comes on. Did anyone experience this problem?? If so do you know what the problem was??**I dont know if this makes sense but**when i used the SS i would get stuck at second gear sometimes, the rpms would just go up and down at around 2-3rpms??Does anyone know whats going on??

That's def. not good. You netter get it re done or checked out. You can cause the computer to mess with regualting the engine and cause some serious engine damage.

I' m positive that is wiring problem, I ask the guy who will install mine told me that he install one Vafc for a TL before, and he faces the same problem. It is hard to install probably without a wiring diagram......Geee....dunno where can I find a diagram.

Here is a tip, most (if not all) APEXI VAFC's are set in the defaults for 4 cylinders, which can affect RPM interpretation and cause this type of failure...this complaint was common for those who tried the less expensive FIELD SFC-VTEC controllers which can only work with a four cylinder car.
As a side note....what you are doing is dangerous to your engines health if you are without tuning experience.....the SFC portion of that device is manipulating the MAP signal which is the essential Fuel Mapping input to the ECU....a lean engine is a welded engine....and those of you who think the fuel setting MAP on a Integra/Civic will work are mistaken.
On the Dyno, the VAFC produces negligible power (if any) and is merely a show to the lightly modified J32 motor (I/H/E)...so think about the gains vs. the risks.

I have to second Syncivic"s comments here. Thus far I have not seen any of our customer's cars that have this device show any power gains but it does look cool.Generally speaking this device is for vehicles that have been modded beyong the stock ecu"s programming to compensate a correct fuel mixture. So unless you have some wild cams ported and polished heads etc. etc. do not expect anything from this device.Jens

The key with this device is that you need to dyno tune it. Changing the VTEC engagement also might cause erratic behavior, because if you change it to a lower RPM, there might not be extra fuel or your cam simply would not engage. If you want to play, play it right by tuning it on a dyno by an experienced tuner.
