Question Engine kicking

Hi, this forum is very helpful. I just bought a 01 TL in June. Have 2k on the car.

A week ago, I noticed a slight kick back sensation on the gas pedal when I accelarate the car above 30 miles, the steering wheels felt fine, no noticable change in gas milage. The kick back sensation is definitly new. I tried change to sports shift, and turn off the TCS but no improvment.

Is this an engine problem or a transmission problem. I have a Lexus dealer told me Acura has harsh transmission.

Can anyone help me out?

I've never heard of a kick back sensation on the gas pedal. With only 2K miles on the car take it in to the dealer if you think there's a problem.

a guy recently posted about a jerking sensation when starting from a stop and stuff and the cause was a broke engine mount which was replaced under warranty...maybe that can be it...

How do you know if you have a broken engine mount?

Thanks

Not sure how it is on FWD cars. But on my S-Class, with broken engine mount, I can feel EVERY SINGLE gear change, and they all jerk much more noticeable. Once I had the engine mounts changed, engine was running smooth at idle(no vibration), and gear changes are smoother.....
