Why would you want to do that?

GREAT DANE I WOULD'NT USE ANY ENGINE FLUSH
CHEMICAL IN MY BRAND NEW CAR. THER ARE TWO REASONS WHY.
1. THE SO CALLED MACHINERY THEY USE
DOESN'T TO MY OPINION WORK. I'VE BEEN A WITTNESS TO A DEMONSTRATION ON AN OLDER VEHICLE AND HAD NO EFFECT ON ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND DEPOSIT REMOVAL.
2. A BRAND NEW CAR SHOULD NOT NEED FLUSHING. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH WEAR ON IT TO MERIT IT. IF THE ENGINE IS MAKING NOISE YOUR DEALER WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I'VE
ALWAYS TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE AND HAVE THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE AND THE WORK QUALITY THEY DO.
THE NEXT TIME YOUR IN YOUR NEAREST DEALER IN YOUR ARE ASK YOUR SERVICE ADVISOR IF YOU SHOULD PERFORM SUCH A SERVICE. I'M CONFIDENT THAT HE WILL ADVISE AGAINST IT.

what made you think of that? i would never do anything to my tl engine. remember these cars are state of the art, w/ a ton of r&d for their developement. you just don't wake up one-day and decide to flush the engine for no reason. your not driving a amc rambler are you? if your ever in doubt, call your local dealership w/ any q&a you might have, i always call my sevice dept. with questions i'm not to sure about.

I think it is like $120 or so... it is supposed to remove all the deposits and stuff out of your engine... I dunno if it works or not... but I dont think it could hurt either... <shrug>

Also, when I talked to a mechanic about it, they said if you ever do the engine flush, have them clean out the oil pan of your oil tank also after it is done (before readding oil, that is). Because all of the sediments gets trapped at the bottom of the pan and eventually recirculates into the engine if it is not cleaned.

If you change the oil regularly every 3000 miles then I don't think it's necessary unless you have a lot of miles on your car. The flush machine is amazing. When you flush the engine even on an older, high mileage car, you can't even see the newly added oil on the dipstick!

I have seen this engine flush machine demonstrated twice so far at our shop.It has failed to perform as advertised by it's sales man on both occasions.Untill I actually see one of these contraptions do something other than make weird noises and provide a nice light show with it's impressive array of illuminated buttons you can rest assured I will NOT even consider selling this sort of product to anyone I know.Jens

Never, ever flush your engine with some organic cleaners. These stuff leaves some
residue which are mainly carbons and carbons can get burned and leaves some undesirable
stuff inside the engine as a result of combustion process. Leave it alone, Dude!
If your car has 100K+ miles ... You may
but with ACURA ENGINES..They are the crown
jewels of HONDA ENGINEERS!

If I remember correctly it was an "Enviro lution" machine.I have never seen the trans flush machine and according to Acura they do not endorse the use of it.A transmission by it's nature and design as well as the engine is a device that uses very small oils galleys in certain areas of the engine I have a real problem with dumping some unknown solvent in the engine or trans and clogging some vital part of the lubrication circuit. As I said Acura does NOT recommend or endorse either of these methods so they must know something about this.Jens

Hey Jens, have you seen the auto trans flush machine. At our dealer here, they show a sample of the ATF after the normal "drop the trans pan" change and a sample after using the flush machine. Of course, the flush sample looks new. I know that the "drop the pan" change will not change all the ATF so it would seem that the flush method is better. BTW, what brand engine flush machine did you witness? Thanks.

We looked at this in Nutz and Boltz, and concluded it was not needed. It is sold in Europe as an environmental deal.
