Thanks for the input... I just took some picks of different parts of the engine bay with my Iphone and was looking at what else I can do. I showed them to some of my co workers and they said the same thing, match it to the interior of the car.
I wish my engine looked like rockstar21's I would paint the middle to, the part that looks like manifold pipes, I would match the colour too.just the pipes and the other parts black.

I only painted the large section of my engine cover and that took me hours to get it taped off right.

IMO panting the whole thing red would have looked bad and kinda cheap plus about 20 people have that done already so I went with a two tone black and red to match the small section of the cover

Here was mine I did with real SSM paint.

I like it but I want to re-do and give it the glossy look.

Probably do that when my custom covers are complete.

I had to get it from a local auto body paint store...

So all they supply is auto paint & supplies.

It was expensive @ $25 a can.

You can find it online for sure but I personally like to do these things in person.

But I wanted it color matched so I opted for it.

Here is what I used...

I painted my calipers red. I was also thinking about red but would that be too much for a all black car ?

I think it makes a big difference (personally) as well as if you like to show off your car, whether if it's at a meet or a car show. Having mismatched pieces is, meh.

happen to know the website....lgm is a hard color to find went to a couple stores...nothing...

My friend told me about this site.

Never used it though but they have LGM.

http://www.paintscratch.com/

You can have them mix that up in a spray can.

Start looking for an automobile paint supply store.

I got mine mixed in house with my paint color code.

I would say matte black.

I used that to restore some of the other plastic pieces.

I recommend to two engine covers.

Do you have a Comptech Icebox?

If so...you could paint that.

Also, if you have a battery cover you could paint that as well.

Sometimes painting everything is overkill for me so I just went with the engine covers.

As you can see here...this is what it looks like with the other miscellaneous pieces painted.

Yeah they make it, I saw a guy at the local mall once with a '06 impreza sti all black with black rims and (!!) green paint!
I had to stop and ask him and he told me he got the G2 high temp brake paint. he also used the left overs (and lots of clear coat) to paint his engine cover and what not and it looked phenomenal (IMO)

I couldn't go too radical, the metallic blue was enough
