engine cover ???

Does anyone know if the engine cover for the 99tl can be replaced by an engine cover for the 2000 or newer style tl engine cover? I want to paint my engine cover but dont like it as much as the newer tl engine covers. My cover has the bumps on it from the intake manifold.

It fits. It's a piece of plastic. The intake plenums are the same. I don't see why Acura has to put all this un-necessary plastic all over the engine bay. Kinda a waste of $$$ and plastic, IMO.

It does not fit. Not even close. Remember the 99 TL has a totally different intake plenum. Won't work. Don't bother. Remember the metal piece in the middle of the cover is a functional piece of the intake manifold whereas on the 99 it's just cosmetic.

Here's pics to prove it.

How can you like the 00+ engine cover better than our 99s? Our looks muscular as where their's look wussy.

Here's a pic of mine:

00-01-02-03 non Type S covers are all the same.
The TypeS and non-TypeS covers are different.

Thanks for the correction. I was under the assumption that the metal piece in the middle of the 00 engine cover was also plastic like the 99 is.
