The End.

Thank you douchebags for turning 20 feet in front of me while going 50mph. I will sue you.

Thank you God, I am still alive.

Thank you my 2003 Acura TL, you sacrificed your life to save mine. You will be very missed.

Thank you everyone here on Acurazine, your knowledge and help with repairs and upgrades helped save my life.

I should be dead right now. But I am NOT.

Thank you all, you have no idea how appreciative I truly am!!!!

Eric

Just found out the dick that did this is 90.

Yes, that really is nine, zero.

Very unfortunate to see that he is insured by the same company as I, pretty much ensures little if any payout in a lawsuit.

Best I can probably hope for is they comp me out closer to what I have into the car, rather than its street value - in which I DO have proof of.

At least I have a decent clean bill of health from MY doctor, fuck the trauma team at the hospital I was taken to, they didn't do much.......

I have a nasty airbag burn on my left wrist I'm worried about, been diabetic all my years and don't heal so well anymore, hoping for the best though.

At least I am alive and well to be with my family and friends!

And what is for certain, I will from now on, only buy Acura and Honda.......
Fuck, it saved my life!

Man sure is a shame.
But glad your ok!
That is most important.
And sorry about your TL. I seem to recall you just dropped it/put spacers on.
But remember you can get another TL!
Your family is most important

Yo, just count your blessings. You'll get your insurance money and be able to get you another Acura, just continue to be thankful that you're still here to do so.

My 2000 got totaled out for this. Got a check for $5500. That was at 60mph F150 spinning out and hitting me head on. Served to avoid him my wife's side of the car.

Hey I was just wondering, in an accident how feasible is it to get your mods back?
Like after its in the yard are you able to go and get your shocks back?
Or (if OP wanted to) would he be able to sell his tails or something like that?
What is the process of doing things like that?
(and if this distracts too much I can move it from this thread)

The damage adjuster is scheduled to see the car tomorrow, so I have no clue what's gonna happen until then.

I do, however, have the guys at the Acura dealership willing to vouch for me and my vehicle, its condition before the accident and the value of the upgrades I did, I also have every single receipt from the purchase of the car til the accident.

I'm hoping the insurance company won't try to lowball me, and are willing to negotiate based on all my info, I'm also hoping after a successful negotiation they allow me to buy it back for scrap value. If that happens, I will most definitely get another 2g TL and start swapping parts.

We will find out soon enough.......

At least I am feeling much better today than yesterday, still really sore, but I can walk around without the leg immobilizer now, that really helps.

Thanks for all the kind wishes everyone, it really helps buffer the blow I took, I really do appreciate it!

I've been saying this for years. Past a certain age, it should be mandatory to have to retake the drivers exam.

Hey Eric, glad to hear you're alright. Sorry about the accident and the loss of your TL.

Just thank God that you're still alive and well. Some things happen so quickly in life. Try to relax and recuperate from the pain, shock and anger. Things will all work out and you'll be back into resurrecting another TL soon ! But, in the meantime....count your blessings.

News!

So far everything is going pretty good, claimed out on my car, got almost 8k, bought it back, got a check!

My body is much less broken feeling, although still sore, it gets a bit better every day.

My poor TL......... been doing some autopsy at my shop, daaaaaaaaamn........

So far it looks like the trans is ok, the motor may be screwed, strut towers were bent so the front suspension might have taken some stress..... Snapped my strut bar!

Also may have found another TL, Type S this time, NBP, CLEEEEEEEEEAN as HELL!..... Preliminaries look beautiful on it, probably gonna take a trip tomorrow to see it, and if it passes, I just may drive it home!

Wish me luck everyone!!!!!!!

You're lucky to be alive man. Acura is a good car and can't complain besides the transmissions failing. Good luck on the TL-S

Hey 666wokker, ya gotta slow down ....otherwise ya risk a relapse !
Wow, what a find. Plus, ya got free parts !

But seriously, take it easy man. I'm really glad that the Acura Gods have shined upon you.
Sometimes a situation such as yours, puts things into a new light of perspective and purpose.

May God bless ya with good health and a new TL !!!!
