Post Electronic Door Locks

Just bought a 2002 Acura 3.2TL Type S 10 days ago and on 3 or 4 mornings when I went out to the garage the car doors were locked. I did not lock the doors when I left the car the previous day. I wonder if this is the result of spurious electronic signals triggering the door locks. My previous car, an Oldsmobile Aurora, occasionally had the same thing occur, but more often the trunk lid had opened. Has anyone had similar experiences or any clues as to what the problem may be?

Nope! I've had my new TL - S for about 3 weeks and if I leave it unlocked in the garage, that's how I find it in the morning. If I lock it, it stays locked. Do you live near something that gives off a lot of radio signals?? A CIA receiving station perhaps?? Could it be the family next door's baby monitor?? Maybe your wife just wants you to leave the car for her to drive!!

Seriously though...I haven't seen or heard of a problem like that.

Did you buy the extra factory alarm? If you did, the alarm has a feature that "protects" the car even when you don't shut the doors. I bought this, and I regret every minute of it.

Maybe you have this??

If you use the keyfob to unlock the door and you do not open the door in a certain amount of time, the car automatically locks itself. This happen to me a few times.

Right, what the last person said. If you unlock with the remote and don't open any door, it re-locks automatically. But if you unlock from inside the car using the lock on the door, get out, close the door and don't do anything with the remote, it will remain unlocked.
