Electrical problem??!

I think i have an electrical problem on my car. SOMETIMES, when i start the car, it goes to 1100RPM then shut off?!?! i have to press the gaz pedal if i want it to stay on. wtf is happening??? It doesnt happen all the time. And i noticed something else. Sometimes, when i turn the key to ON, nothing happens.. well, the radio turns on (like if i was on ACCESSORIES), but no lights light up?!?! I have to turn the key a little bit more than it comes. ?!?! Any help would be appreciated!

Btw, is da TL that good?!?!?! I mean, i had a whole bunch of troubles with this car. I love it, but.. They had to replace the whole block, pieces on the exhaust system, windows trim is rippled, the armrest in not centered, it's more on the left side, so when i turn left, the seat touches to it and it squeaks, they had to replace a piece for the driver seat (heated seat).....The rotors are not good, etc, etc, etc.....i wonder when it will stop..?..

i had to vent....

Are you sure you bought it brand new and that it wasn't previously in an accident? Unfortunately, it sounds as if you might have been one of the few unlucky ones that got a total defect off the line. What year is your car?

The shutoff sounds like a fuel related problem that's causing stalling. Get your fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator checked out.

As far as the rotors are concerned, is the car new? Warped rotors can be from riding the brakes, braking hard at the last minute, or even washing your car after it has been driven a lot. As far as the electrical problem <if it is electrical> is concerned, don't sweat it. Just take the car to the dealer, have them give you a loaner and let them deal with it. It seems like this happens to you often enough for the dealer to be able to replicate it. This of course, is assuming that you are still under warrenty.

As some of us know so well that it is a bad design with the armrest. I had that problem with my car if you look up underneath the armrest you will see missing screws. This problem has happen again after dealer fix. I have 2 screws that have fallen into the top part of the armrest. My drivers seat bottom element also went out late last year. It was replaced under warranty. The brake pads & rotors were also replaced under warranty. Your electrical problem just take it back to the dealership if its still under warranty. I am still well away from the end of my warranty. I have very low mileage for a 2 year old car only a bit over 21,000.

How big/heavy is your keychain? If it's big/heavy, it may be doing funky things with your ignition switch. Take everything off except the key and see if it improves but it may be too late as it could have hosed the switch already.

I bought the car NEW. It's a 1999. And i'll take it to the dealer, but im not under warranty And ill look at my armrest too. And my keychain is not heavy. And for my rotors, i just got KVR rotors for the front... I had the stock rotors resurfaced twice... Now with the KVRs i hope it'll be better. And i never wash my car after i use it..

i may be getting a new car if fvcks keep happening..
