ECU Replacement and Immobilizer Question.....

Im needing to replace my ECU and was curious if there was a way to program the immobilizer myself or is this something a dealer needs to do? Ive also seen chips that replace the immobilizer chip so it bypasses that completely and was curious if thats something anyones done on here?

Ive never seen a "chip: that replaces the immobilizer unit. That is soldiered directly to the mother board of the ECU. You will have to bring it into a Honda/Acura dealer to have them reprogram it. You could also call around your local lock smiths and see if they can. some have the ability. My honda dealer charged me 45 bucks and only took 30 min to do

When did you get yours done? Curious because for $45 I would have jumped on that a long time ago! All the quotes Im getting from the dealers near me is from $180 - $200 and Im not willing to pay that much for it! Thats why I was looking for a bypass which I found a place that made them years back but not able to find them now. I see on a few other boards where people got a hold of them for less $30 which makes more sense to me than the $200 stealers are trying to charge!
