the oem rotors suck as it is.
ebay rotors arnt any better.

i knwo u want to go cheap, but brakes isnt the place to go cheap. contact our vendors. DBA also has a good rep on here for replacement rotors.

and dont forget to get pads. ebc green stuff are good for every day normal driving and some spiritual driving from time to time

My friend bought his rotors from that company.

He has put about 35,000 miles on them and they are still as good as they were on day one.

He also replaced his pads as well.

I got my rotors from eBay and I got pads from Autozone and it stops like a monster.

for basic driving and stopping~ pads and rotors from kragen/oreilly's or napa or azone will work well enough
be sure to torque the wheels correctly to 80 ft lbs

there are other choices for the more aggressive driver

I have close to 16k miles on those. (Well, same company)

Performs same as day 1. I don't drive my car hard though.

No rust so far, they're holding up pretty well. But then again, they haven't seen a NE winter yet.

i got these ebay rotors 2.5 years ago. i am pretty harsh to them. so far not a single issue and with nice ceramic pads i get much better braking then stock and no dust. I have satisfied pro ceramic pads. I still have like 40% on them. No complaints at all. i recommend you bleed your brakes and put in synthetic fluid. you will be amazed how much better over stock it is.

Hmm, my CL is needing brakes. I think I will look into these after reading some of your past experiences.

^ holy balls!

def getting EBC rotors instead

thats some major metal fatigue, must have been a poorly pored casting or improper heat treatment

looks like the fracture started at the end of the milling point of one of the slots, thats most likely a cavity fracture that followed a grain structure line. that was probably a heat treated blank that was milled without annealing metal - BAD, your suppose to mill, then heat treat.

actually, They use inferior metals, they didn't radius the cut where it was machined (any person who knows anything about metal working or machining can vouch) and that will definitely fatigue metal in a high heat/stress scenario

yes, inferior metal, most likely machined after it was heat treated (big no no), which induced internal stresses.

FWIW, the ones I have, the slots aren't cut all the way to the edge.

Ebay rotors: That's a vague description since anybody can sell whatever on Ebay.... just get a brand that others have used with success, whether they come from Ebay or someplace else.

i bought rotors and pads from ebay before, but im not an aggressive driver. they rust after a rainy or wet day, but they perform good enough. i was on a budget as i was doing a caliper and lug conversion. next time, i plan on buying something better.
overall, if youre a careful driver and not hard on your brakes, the ebay ones should be good enough till you upgrade to something better.

i'm running on rotora drilled/slotted rotors, been on them for almost two years now, with a good amount of aggressive driving, i've also got akebono ceramic pads on there, $600 worth of brakes, but damn, has been great braking.

What's the word on the vendor here on AZ - Brakemotive - they are offering 4 slotted drilled rotors with pads for $179 for 2G TLs... anyone have opinions on them that they would like to share?

i bought some from ebay looks just like the ones in the ebay link, and ive never had a problem. i got them about 3.5 years ago.. and i live in europe so alot of fast stopping. ive never had a problem with them. tho i bought all 4 and they have semi metalic pads. still stops on a dime. theyre not even glazed. im sure you'll enjoy what ever ones you buy. good luck G

I bought ebay d/s rotors and love them. You have to take the chance and just ook into what you are buying. But I like the outcome of my rotors and would buy them again..

after a weekend of reading and educating myself a bit... Ill be saving up for some EBC, RB, Rotora or other repuatable brand for rotors and pads...

Just better than stock - no racing but I want quiet, quality stops for the family car - that has to deal with the crazies that drive around in LA traffic.

All it takes is one really hard stop to appreciate the power of good brakes and quality tires.

Peace of mind is priceless.
