dyno cost

Anyone know how much it costs to get a dyno for both HP at the wheels and the fly?

I got a qoute for $100. They can't do a dyno at the fly wheel, that is only at the factory. Im sure they could estimate the flywheel hp, by adding the lost % to the at the wheels hp.

Flywheel dyno would have to be done with the engine out of the car. It could be calculated fairly exactly, if the losses of the trans were clearly known, but I've never seen these exact numbers. You'll get an estimate at the flywheel, based on a drivetrain loss "fudge factor" of around 18-20%. I've seen higher claimed losses for TL-s chassis around 22%, but have no data to back that up.

22%...my my that's bad. I don't remember where I saw it, but wasn't there a lawsuit about one of the KIA or Hyundai vehicles producing less than 20% WHP than it was supposed to?
