During a Transmission replacement

do they lose any coolant? I'm getting my tranny replaced next week, but this weekend, I want to change my coolant. Should I wait?

It dont matter if you change it now or after the tranny swap, it wont affect your coolant.

They do have to disturb some cooling lines, but it's not that much. It's nothing like those older caravans where a cooling hose has to be removed to access the top of the tranny.

there is a heater module thats attached to the tranny. It will allow coolant to run out when they remove teh tranny. Leave it till you get it back

If there are no signs of it failing they wont change it. As for how long it will take that changes from location and dealer to dealer. If they have one in stock it will only take a day.

I just bought an '02 TL-S back in July, and just dropped it off this morning for a new tranny. I only have 38,650 miles on it!! The good part is this is under warranty, AND I get to check on an '05 TL. SWEEEETT!!!

The dealer said it will take 7-10 days because they had to order the transmission. I just hope I get my money's worth out of the car (and extended warranty) before it's all said and done. BTW, has anyone in the Atlanta area gotten the beefed up tranny, or know of a good shop to do one???
