What is a CAI again? Does it really make a difference to your TL? Thanks,

I thought it was Cold Air Intake (probably the same thing).
Either way, I heard it increases power a little. But someone who has CAI installed can explain more in detail.

Intake..induction....same thing. What it does is allow your engine to induct more air (suck in more air), therefore it is more efficient and much less restrictive air flow. By having that, the HP increases, as does the noise level. But the noise is a little wisling sound which i seem to like a lot.

yes, Cold Air Intake. it takes in colder air than the normal short ram intake. therefore, it kewls off the engine better which makes the engine produces more power. the short ram intake sucks in air from the top, which is warmed up a bit already, but the cold air intake sucks are in from the bottom of the car. that's why if where you live rains or snows a lot, you better buy the by-pass valve, too. or the water will go into the intake and cause hydrolock which is BAD.

misconception of the difference between the short ram and the cold air intake is that cold air intake takes in colder air because its located away from the engine, and the reason why colder air is better for performance is because, cold air has more oxygen than hot air in the same volume of air, which produces a better combustion, in turn you get more performance using the same amount of fuel...but this difference is minimal....unless your TL is heavily modded..
