Question Drop in filter????

Is there a big difference between K & N and Comptech filters? Is it worth it? Thanks,

well i have a K&N drop-in in my Diamante and it works well...it has saved me some bucks instead of buying the factory paper filter adn has also increased my horse power...definately go and buy a drop in filter, i'd go comptech myself...i like the foam better...

I just got my K&N drop-in. I haven't put it in yet but it gave 4 HP to the wheels on the new Maxima.

I will give you my opinion on it as soon as I put it in.

I do have the Comptech drop in...Sound wise, there's a little more hiss at idle, and a drop noiser at WOT(don't hear it anymore cuz the comptech exhaust overwhelms that sound now) It's said to free up a bit of power, it probably does, but nothing special, like 1-2 hp.. I plan on removing that resonator under the airbox, to free up some more power soon.

The comptech filter can be cleaned... I have cleaned it already... you simple spray on this cleaner stuff, let it sit, and just wash it off witht he hose, and off goes all the dirt..then u re-oil it again, and massage it into the foam, let it absorb and sit for a bit, then drop it back in, that's it!
