Floored my TL in SS from 1 to 2. Right when it was about to shift and i'm holding the gas down, it sounded like it went into neutral, then it went into 2. It was like the rpms at 5500 in 1, then 6000 then all of sudden back to around 4000 in 2.

Signs of another tranny replacement? Sounds like my gear teeth are slipping..

What year/model? Just curious.

Any rocking/jerking movement accompanied by that?

My '03 usually shifts at about 6300 RPM, but sometimes it does shift higher (still can't seem to find the pattern as to what makes the car shift higher sometimes) and when it does, it sounds like it went into neutral.... probably because it's revving higher than usual.

 

PURE adrenaline:

it was like after i hit over 5000 that the car just stopped putting gas to the wheels it was like NEUTRAL, then it Clicked back into 2 with a jerk.

 

Sounds like transmission slippage, a red flag of transmission failure.

 

Yep, I agree with 03CoupeV6. It sounds like it's slipping. Take it in for a check-up.
