drivers side leather replacement

When i bought my 02 ABP TL-S a few weeks ago my only gripe was with the wear on the drivers seat... so i was wondering where i could possibly find a replacement for just the bottom of the seat as the back isnt worn out just the part you sit on... i already considered a junk yard, but wouldnt the fact its used defeat the purpose of replacing it? so basically how much am i looking to spend on a new one and where do you reccomend getting one from? just for fun i asked the dealership (err or stealership they didnt earn that nickname for no reason) how much it would cost while i was there today i laughed when they told me over $700 ... anyway any help would be great. thanks.

Try an auto upholstery shop

This isn't a very difficult job. I had my back and seat padding modified on my TLS for $50 locally in So Cal. Any good auto upholstery shop should be able to do this easily.

The auto upholstery shop is in Carlsbad, CA off Palomar Airport Rd. The seat had a hard spot in the bottom by the hinge. They removed the padding in the seat and reinstalled it. To the back they added a small piece of batting to the back just beneath the plastic ribbing to make the seat back softer. This was back in 2003. They showed me 4 types of foam, foam+matting fused together, and plain matting that they use in various thicknesses from 1/8. 1/4, and 1/2".

yeah exactly just the ass part there are an excessive amount of wrinkles and what looks like a few cig burns ( though the car has no hint of a smoker... maybe just a slight rip from wearing out) but yeah im in jersey so i was lookin for any clue on how much im spending and where to go for it.
