Driver's seat creaking..
I just noticed that there was "creaking" coming from the pilot's seat. This only happens during cornering or when the car makes lateral motion, like a curve on the road. I brought it to the dealer and they claimed they fixed it (I actually saw them taking the seat apart and working on it). The work order even said that they replaced parts and lubricated the track, etc..
After driving a few hours, I noticed the same creaking was still there. Anyone here had any similar annoyances?? :banghead:

is it the seat or the seat belt thingy? I had a creaking and I thought it was the seat or even something on the center console but in the end it was the seat belt end that was creaking. They lubed that up and that was the end of it.

Its probablly the bolt that holds the seat belt receiver. Someone some time ago someone actually ripped their seat out to get at thing and disassemble it. There is apparently a nylon washer under the bolt in order to keep the seat belt receiver in an upright position. He said he removed that, the creaks stopped, and his seat belt receiver still stayed in one place.
Now me, I wouldn't go as far as tearing out my seat and removing parts. What I did is hook up the little red nozzle extension to my can of WD-40 and just douched the hell out of that bolt. Its tough to get at, but it is possible, and mine has been creak free for months. Don't spray it in the receiver itself, get the bolt that holds the whole assembly to the seat.

Mine was doing this too. There apparently is some sort of TSB because they said it was common and they had a solution (dealer). They took the driver seat out and put some sort of tape between the seat and the mounting brackets on the floor. That fixed it. The only bad thing - and it could have been MUCH worse - is that the dipwads only started the bolts when they put them back in. I noticed it the first day I got the car back because whenever I stopped or took off FAST, I felt like I was in a rocking chair. Luckily I didn't have a wreck ...

I have the same thing on my '02 TL - sounds like 2 pieces of plastic - that maybe cracked and now pop back and forth. Especially when I lean back. Doesn't sound like oil would fix - but hey, its worth a good spraying if that helps.

Yea, my 2000 is doing it also. It is out of the basic warranty and the dealer said adjustments weren't covered by the certified warranty. It only does it when I lean back. I can't see it being the seat belt cover because I can significantly reduce the problem by lowering my seat all the way. I guess it restricts the movement of the seat. I really don't want to start spraying WD all over the underneath of my seat. But I agree, it's a royal pain.

Yeah I just got this diagnosed the other day and I found the problem to be where the seat belt actually gets connected. Basically the fastners. Now you must be careful and not use WD-40 in there because they have sensors in there that I wouldnt risk getting wet. Its covered under warranty so my dealership ordered them and I just need to make another appointment. You'll be able to replicate the problem if you just move the seat belt fastner around a little. And if it is this, you might as well check the passengers side too, cuz both of mine were like that.
