Driver seat causing back pain

Have any of you had a problem with the driver seat hurting your backs. I have a 01 TL and ive tried everything. Ive changed the lumbar setting and gotten a pillow. Ive never had a problem in any other car. Seems like the seat curves too sharply on the sides making my kidneys ache.

Front seat fix

I have an 02 TLS with sport seats that I purchased new. After a thousand miles, I went to the dealership with the same problem. They referred me to an upholstery shop which reconfigured the back of the front seat. I talked to the guy at the shop who showed me how it works.

First, you remove the the plastic backing held on by clips in the back that pull out. If you break one, you can easily replace them.

Next you can disengage the spring mechanism that adjusts the lumbar support with a pair of needle nose pliers.

What you see is a plastic spinal shaped support holding the foam backing. The upholstery shop gave me three different foam and matting pieces that I could place in the backing beneath the spinal frame. I experimented with the different thicknesses until a found one that was comfortable. It took some time and I opened and closed the panel close to a dozen times. I found the right setting and have been comfortable ever since.

Lean the seat back a little to get more contact of your lower back to the seat.
