Drive with Foglight on and headlight off during the day.

Is it against the law to drive the car during the day with foglight on and headlight off?
That is what I want to do. Who know how to do his mod?

Yes you have to splice a couple wires togeather. I'll find you the directions. I did the mod, it took like 5 minutes. As for the legality of it, I don't know. I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for having fogs on during the day. Even without headlights

JPTLS03,
If you can find the instruction on how to do it I really appreciated. I want to have my LED foglight on every time I start my car by having the foghlight in push on position all the time.

Thanks

BX,
That mod makes your parking light and foglight turn on all the time? Are the parking and breaking light the same?

http://www.acura-tl.com/faq/faq.php#5c >> This DIY allows you to have your fog lights on when you turn your parking lights WITHOUT your headlights. Right now you need your headlights + parking lights on to have the fogs on. You can still turn off the foglights with the switch.

headlights + parking lights on to have the fogs on ??

I thought that mod does this:
parking lights on only to have fog light on.

yeha..thtas what it does...if you want the fogs to come on by itself...just snip the conection to the foglights/headlights and run a constant to the foglight wsitch...then the foglights will work when the seitch is on..and be off when the switch is off...it'll be like after market foglights....i've read tho, that its ileagal to have fogs on anytime without incliment weather present...all tho cops never bother you aobut it...the only time i got harrassed by a cop was when i only had my fogs on and no headlghts at night....now thats illegal

Yeah, was just trying to explain to him the difference. I think he is very confused.

mthuch:

the DIY JPTLS03 posted in the DIY section does this >> only need parking lights on to have fog lights on.

I was saying I wanted to find instructions to ONLY have fog lights on without parking lights needed.

Using a bosch relay, hook up the following:
ground(-) to pin 85
keyed(+) to pin 86

battery ALWAYS HOT (+) to pin 30 (be sure to put a 20A fuse on this, better to run dedicated wire from battery to relay)

fog light switch(+) pin 87

to find the fog light switch(+) just use a circuit tester, turn on your head lights and turn on your fog lights. next attach the circuit tester to a ground and use the the other end of the tester and touch each pin on the switch until tester lights up. while keeping it there turn off the fog light switch. If the tester turn off, then keep checking the pins on the switch until you find the one that stays on regardless of the position of the switch (remeber to keep your head lights on) ... you want to find the power wire that feeds the switch. Once you find the wire, snip it and connect the wire from the fog light switch to pin 87 of the relay. This will enable you to turn on your lights when the key on the ignition is on and also let you use the fog light switch to turn it on and off if there is ever a case that u do want your fog light on.

Have fun.

I dont know the part number, but this is what it looks like ...

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...=330-070&DID=7

you'll need a 12V 20 or 30amp relay. Some come with 4 prongs, some come with 5. Either one will work.

Looking at the link i guess the bosch part# is 0 332 209 150.
You should be able to pick one up at the part store, if not then for sure you can get one at a stereo/alarm install shop.

I got mine from partsexpress myself a few weeks ago. Cost pretty cheap but the shipping kills you. Might as well buy a few. Autozone charged me $8.
