So pissed at myself, was taking my uncle to the bank last weekend and let my back bumper hang over the curb backing out of a tight space (dang turning radius), there was a low lava rock that put a nasty scrape (and tiny hole) on the bottom driver side of the bumper. I got a low quote of $600, and a high of $800 for bumper replacement and paint.

I thought maybe sand and epoxy would work, but nobody was willing to mess with it. I've never had to have body work done and would rather avoid the insurance since they'd jack my rate even higher. Is that a good quote or should I keep looking? Anyone have a place to recommend in the bay area? My friend recommended Golden West off Auzerius, they had best price as well.

6-800 and painting for that doesnt seem to be that bad. thats what i was quoted for the same type of work but on the front bumper (lady backed into the bumper when the car was 1 week old)

he repainted my front bumper and lip and also my rear bumper and the rear lip for $600

I've been meaning to get my bumper fixed - I didn't realize it was so expensive! For that much money I might as well get a value sport bumper (although after painting and all that I guess it will end up being twice the cost of getting the bumper fixed).
