Does your clock illuminates?

I just bought a 03 TLS, and just noticed that my clock does not illuminate at night, i did a search but didnt find anything specific to the clock. Does any1 with a 01-03 TL or TLS have their clock illumitate at night?

yeah i thin it does.. cause i remember reading posts about it being fixed when broken.. it's just a simple swap of bulbs..the hard part is taking apart the dash..

Lol, im only a n00b with the TL, that's my wife's car, i have a teg which i still prefer to drive. Oh and im from Sac too..

Any1 else can confirm that the clock is suppose to illuminate?

yeah i meant a on AZ. u from sac?? really, what area?

(and i'm pretty sure that light is supposed to light up)

real ez fix for this, just take ur fist and give it a few bangs till it lights back up!!!
if u think im crazy.....DO IT!...someone told me to do this a while back and i thought they were nuts!
%99 chance it will come back on...worked for me !

when i bought my tl used it was already broke, i now have an ugly light that shines on it. too lazy to take apart dash.

yeah my backlight burned out a couple of months back. i bought a replacement bulb from the dealer (and got ripped off of course) for about 5 bucks and replaced it. taking the trim/bezel takes a while though. if you need a guide for it, let me know.

It does light up but it's been a problem with all Hondas. Had mine replaced in my 2000 Accord, my 2001 Oddesey and my 2002 TL all under warranty.

Yes, this does work, mine went out (I thought) a couple months ago, and its still working fine today....

I tried the banging on the TL and the Oddesey, didn't know about it for the Accord. It did NOT work on either car. Asked the dealer about it and was told that occasionally the bulb works loose and banging on might work but there was a problem with bulbs burning out prematurely. No amount of banging will fix that although it might help with the frustration level.

Mine does now!

I had the same problem with my '02 TL-S. The dealership replaced the bulb behind the clock for me under warranty.

hit it somewhat gently. my clock went out. i hit the dash in near the clock and it came back on. has worked since then for the past 2 years. i think its a loose connection. honda/acura cars are famous for loose connections in their dashboard lights.

Worked for me. Mine went out like a day after I bought it. Out of frustration I banged the dash right between the clock and the vents above it. Came right on, and has stayed on since then.

I wouldn't say I slammed it. I gave it a really good thump, if that makes sense.

awesome congratulations. gotta say dash lighting is something honda/acura has sucked at for at least 15 years. my family used to have an accord (1990) same thing happened to it. all the dash lights would burn out, or come loose. you hit the dash and they come on, you drive over a pot hole, they turn off. retarded. shit they should use LEDS and solder the connections or something. maybe one day they'll figure it out...
