Post Does TL-S seem slower to you?

I have my TL-S for about 3 months now. It feels like the car lost power and doesn't punch as well as it used to. My friends told me that I just got used to it and going from Camry to TL-S was a big change when I first got it.

Is it me, or any of you recognize the same thing?

Lightbulb

Slather your car with Acura-TL.com stickers: each is good for about 15 hp.

Be sure to put two stickers on the engine cover, they add hp to your engine via osmosis

I've had mine over 3 months and it feels stronger now than when I first got it.

You may want to have it checked out.

I've only had it 3 wks - seems the same so far. There's been discussion about a failed VTEC component both here and on the CL board - you might want to check it out.

Then again, your body may just be used to the acceleration now and has built up a tolerance - you're officially a TL-S addict now....you'll need to use something stronger to get the same sensations now - may I recommend an S4 or an M3? As with many other vices, these will drain your wallet quickly.

Under light acceleration I was wondering the same thing, I assumed I was just getting used to the car. When you put your foot to it, it still moves though.

It is you. I drove my wife's 4-cylinder Camry autoatic for a day, and then switched back to the S. It felt like a rocket.

Yep...the only way to fix that problem is to buy an intake, then some headers....maybe pulleys...or plugs...lighter wheels....SC....blah blah blah....

Just to be safe check to make sure the actuator is working, but most likely its just the fact that you are gettng used to the car. A quick fix?? Borrow someone else's car for a short drive. It will fix that problem real fast.

You're just getting used to it. Time to look into a GS430, my friend.

No doubt that you are just used to the feel of the TL-S. I rented a Dodge Intrepid the other day for a business trip and I could definately feel the difference when I got back into my car.

Happy motoring...

The GS430 is nice but I don't like the incandescent dash lighting (as opposed to the cool looking Optitron)...looks like some cheap punk modifications in the league of an IS300

I think you're just getting used to it. I drove my wife's Pathfinder today and boy is that a hog! I always felt it was at least "peppy" but now it feels just plain slow.

Red face

The GS430 is not really that much faster than the TL-S, less than a second. You are just getting used to the power. It's like when you get the latest, fastest computer - it is SOOO much faster than your last computer, you are amazed. But after using it a few weeks or months, it too seems "slow" which it is not, but you have just gotten spoiled.

I must admit: to keep myself in check, I still drive my 4 cylinder Accord from time to time. It works like a charm and helps me appreciate the power of the TL-S.

Try rebooting your car

or maybe doing an engine defrag.

Hey, it works for the computer...

I agree my tls is starting to get slower to, just a couple of days ago I was out driving my car with the g tech pro on, and my 0-60 time was 6.18 seconds, I don"t know what's going on, I thought I bought a fast car ?????????, but with 0-60 times like that I wonder about the cars true performance.

Uh i hope you are kidding, 6.18 is an great time!!! The tl-s has stated only 6.6 in all magazines. So you should have known at least an idea of the times. Sounds like you didnt do any research when looking into this car before you bought it.

"Sarcasm" comes to mind .

I got a beat-up Integra for a loaner a couple of weeks back. Drove it overnight, got my TLS back tho next day, almost blasted myself right out onto the street from the dealership's parking lot.

I think you're just getting used to it.

I respect your opinion, but we'll have to agree to disagree, I think quite the opposite. I think the GS series' dash (in fact, ANY lexus dash) is the clearest, coolest dash illumination. The Acura TL-S dash at night is somewhat disappointing .. IMO.

Further, I don't think I would pass the car off just because I didn't like the dash board .. going from 0-60mph in under 6 seconds is very very thrilling ..
