Question Does anyone have a aftermarket roof rack?

I have been looking for a roof rack to put on my 03 TL so i can mount my snowboard rack for this season. I had factory bars on my truck so I am new to this base rack thing. I went to Thule's website and did their Fit Guide and by the end it had me ready to buy $750 worth of products !! There has got to be cheaper options out there and maybe i did it wrong. Does anyone have a thule or yakima base rack and payed that much for it? and are there any cheaper options that wont have all my gear spread all over the highway?

I second this question. I have a 171 cm Rossignol Razer and I am struggling to make it fit. Short of placing it on the rear seat and having one end stick out of the window, I can't make it fit.

I looked on e-bay, but they don't seen to have anything that is a direct fit for the TL. TL roof does not have the 'rails' that most racks require.

I just checked both the Yakima and Thule website and total for our car would be around $315-$365 depending on which brand you go with. Some items are sold as pair even when the cart quantity says "1".

Here's my current roof rack setup:
Yakima Q Towers x 4 (1 per door)
Q92 clip x2
Q93 clip x2
2 48" cross bars
$315 total not including the $160 Yakima Big Powderhound snowboard rack

Do you use a fairing with the fatcat? I'm wondering about the whistling noise on it.
