worked at dealer in 80s and still friends with service manager and i had another 02 tl-s non-navi before this car that was totalled at 100k and that went thru three trans in 100k
so i have done five tranys in two cars in like three years so they had a heart i guess

hey thanks for the great post about your car. Its so awesome that you have 400miles on a 02 TL. This improves the the reliability image for this model which receives a lot of flak on daily basis lol. I must ask what engine oils have you been using? trany fluid? any special work on the car? So far mine only has 40 miles on it and its showing signs of age.

I have 400 or so on my 00, Cant show a beautiful pic like that as i swapped to a different cluster for my 6 speed conversion. I would probably have 500 on it if it hadnt spent so much down time for blown auto trans (5 of them)

What flak does it receive on a daily basis for reliability? Trans are the only thing they arent known for being reliable. Every thing else that is starting to pop up no is mostly due to these cars being up to 11 years old now.

Any quality oil will allow the motor to achieve this.

Holly sh*t.... thats crazy.... im getting scared at 127K even though I'm running strong still. I just dont want my tranny to give out. I try and do my tranny fluid every 50k....

Looks good still... especially for a snow car TL with 400k on it..

i... feel nervous. 220K on the origional transmission. scared to change the fluid because im not the origional owner. runs smoothly, but in D5 the car kind of hesitates (for lack of a better word) when going up a hill, so i switch it to D4 and it takes care of that.

Impressive.

Looks (a lot) better than mine and I'm under 100k.

But I did get a new timing belt.

I used synthetic oil at first but switched to oreily brand cheap stuff arround 300k and no issues . I only had dealer change trans fluid as if they do it at teh scheduled times they cant throw it in my face if another trans went out . I am going to do the same with my 07 . And for anybody that thinks the odometer is photoshoped either stop by my house or call zimbrick acura and ask for dan in service an he will tell you the miles are real and accurate

This is crazy i'm at 135k miles and my car has been the most unreliable car I've ever owned!! I swear I should have just bought a Hyundai brand new. Here's what I went through in 8 years of owning this fine vehicle! (2003 TL-S)

4 Transmission
Heater Blower Motor
AC Compressor
2 ABS sensors
10 Front Rotors
Flex Pipe Rotted
Rear Exhaust corroded and needed replacement (Good reason to get Tsudo's)!!
EGR valve
Ball Joint
Tables
Link Kit
2 Shock Absorbers
RPM gauge cluster
Oil Pressure switch
Tensioner Pulley
TPS sensor
Heated seat stop working
HID ballast went out recently
FUEL lines corroded and needed replacing!
and the list goes on... the only reason I still have it is cus it still puts a smile to my face when I look back at the parking lot!

no T belt when technically you should have replaced it 4 times at this point..costing over 4k dollars if you were to use the dealership...oil changes at double what most people do..using oreillys oil and god knows whats in that oil..
not only is his car running at 400k plus miles..but the paint on that thing looks fucking phenomenal...and for so much driving you would think it would look a lot more rough

congrats man that is pretty cool...good acura commercial.

How about looking at this milestone another way, that the OP didn't wreck the car or get hit by someone else in all those miles. Poof of driving skill in my book.
