Post Do You regret buying the color of your TL

I wanted to know if you guys regret getting the color you got when buying the TL? HonestLY I hate my knighthawk black with a passion. I can wash it wax it and 5 minutes later I can see how dirty it is again . However for those 5 minutes the ACK JUST SHINES!!!!. If you had it to do over again would you choose that color?

Knowing then what I know now, Agean Blue Pearl baby!
(tanx for da pic Mr Hyde!)

BTW, that is the fate of a black car. Zaino the hell out of it, the dust releases easier (like while you drive!).

I had ordered the Firepepper Red Ebony Nav it took to long to come in.
Then I changed to Nighthawkblack Ebony Nav. This was the other only color combo that I would have got. The black is harder to keep clean but I love this color & have learned how & what product work best on it.

Not a moment. I know the black is hard to keep it clean. Hey, if this car is clean it beats all the color.

I got Satin Silver Metallic and I do regret it a bit. If I bought the car now I would get the Aegean Blue Pearl. I didn't because I thought a dark color would be too hard to maintain. Since I was my car religiously anyways I could have gottten away with an ABP. SSM is nice but ABP could be better. Both have its advantadges...

I wanted the WDP/Ebony combo, which is not available in Canada, but is in US. Black looks great when washed/waxed, but I just can't wash the car every 5 min. So, SSM/Ebony was my only choice. But I would still consider WDP/Parchment or Ethernal Blue/Parchment, which still looks great.

If Aegean Blue/Ebony is available in Canada, I would snap it right the way... no questions, no 2nd thoughts...

I had a 01 CL-P in Dark Emerald Pearl/Parchment, loved the color but it is hard to keep clean. I swore that would never own another dark color car. When I traded in the CL-P for my TL-S, five months later, the dealer had them in every color combo, guess what, I ended up with another Dark Emerald Pearl/Parchment. Don't regret getting that color again. But I learned never to say never.

I love the color of my car! Yes, it does get dusty real easy. I have one of those "California Dusters" though. Just wipe it down once a day before leaving the house. Only takes a couple of minutes to do.

I have no problem with my color,I love the Naples Gold I don't see too many of them on the road and when I go to meets I usually stand out in a see of Silver and Black. Its very easy to maintain, the dirt doesn't show up on it unless I let it go for a while between washes which doesn't happen too often.

I really like the black when its clean and waxed. Otherwise I hate the color black. I wish they had the san marino red color like my old accord that car never got dirty. I think my next color car will be white. I have to get rid of the black. I have a **** load of rock chips all over the front and it sticks out like a sore thumb

I wanted Laguna Green Metallic... All the dealerships at the time were giving me waiting times of over a month, and one dealer had a Satin Silver one coming in about a week, I went with the SSM.

I was supposed to get black on black but I didn't want to wait two months so I got black on parchment. BAD BAD BAD!!! Black shows every scratch!! Also, a parchment interior gets dirty as hell and looks horrible when it is. If I had the choice to go back, I would have got Silver on black, and second choice is WDP.

Given a choice, I would do the Naples Gold all over again....might settle for silver as a second choice though. Black looks old pretty quickly. A neighbour has a black 3.5RL which shows every swirl mark from a mile away, in bright sunlit conditions, even though he washes and waxes it pretty much even weekend. In shady conditions, after the wax and wash, the Black RL looks GREAT....just don't observe it too closely in bright sunlight.

I don't regret getting WDP w/parchment. If had had pick again, I would have considered black with parchment interior. I picked white because my previous car was black and a _ _ _ _ _ to keep clean. I must admit that everycar looks best in black, just harder to care for.

I was on the fence between Satin Silver Metallic and Monterrey Blue Pearl, and I choose the SSM because it was going to be easier to clean. The MBP is just too dark, and would have been a lot of work to maintain. The air here in Fresno just is too dirty, farming around the valley puts a lot of dirt in the air and it eventually travels into the city to settle down. I made the right choice because I don't have the time required for the upkeep on the MBP.

yes and no....

i've always liked the white diamond pearl.. but i kinda wished i had gotten the agean blue pearl.. just because i haven't seen one on the road yet!!! but i've seen 2 other WDP already =*(

I had a black car before and i told myself NEVER AGAIN!! I love to keep my car clean and i wash it every week... but a weekly wash is NOT enough for a black car =*(

so yeah if i could choose again I probably would've gotten the ABP

I got WDP w/parchment... I love the WDP paint but I hate the parchment interior. It's realy hard to keep it clean, considering the fact that my frineds are such slubs....

I'm with Tom on this one.. Navi regrets all the way.. and of course always still pissed off about the 2002 coming out only a couple months after I got my car!!

But.. as far as color.. Silver was always my first choice.. yeah, it isn't the most exciting color in the world, but it looks so good. I like it cuz its a modern looking color, sleek, and CLEAN..

The only thing I don't like is that there are so many silvers all over the place.. but I don't get bothered by it as much as I did before..

Black is very luxurious.. and I am going for a black car the next time. That is if a nice red one doesn't catch my eye first.. If they came out with a San Marino Red TL-S, I would seriously consider getting that..

When I get my GS430 someday, I'm getting black with chrome 19's!!

In the end, it's just what color makes YOU happy, and what fits your personality. When you die, they won't remember what color your car was, they'll only remember how happy you were owning it.

Shoot.. for a great color/car.. here is the best choice IMO..

White And Tan

Dude,

Whoo-Hoo! White pearl and parchment leather...my TL S-Type is that color! I dig it! The white is so bright it's blinding in bright sunlight. Hehe...

I like this color scheme because that's the color scheme of Crockett's Testarossa on Miami Vice! That car ruled.

In order...
White Pear/FirePepper Red (toss up) - then Laguna green
preferably black interior.

I just came off a black Accord (still have), which looks great when clean, but a piece of s**t when dirty, especially in the winter. Thats why I got the anthrocite, which never looks dirty and is a bit darker than the silver. Still it is not stunning like the black. The only problem in Canada, is that I could only get black with parchment interior. For some stupid reason, the black on black for 2002, was only available in the USA. Otherwise if there was black on black, I would have picked this combo. Of course, for the extra $4000 cdn. I could have had this colour combo with the TLS.

Talking Yes, but...

My feelings about Black are sorta like that famous quote about democracy;

It's the worst color except all the others...
  • I like that the Silver is low maintenance, but it's way too common.
  • I like the Blue, except it's only available with the Tan interior.
  • I like the Green, except it's also only available with the Tan interior.
  • I loved the Laguna Green, but I'm worried it will look dated in three years.
  • And I love the Anthracite, but I don't have a time machine...

I had a black '97 GS-R and it looked FANTASTIC when it was clean... but that only lasted for about 5 minutes after each washing.

I traded it for a 2000 WDP TL and I LOVED that color... it's still pretty rare around here and was very easy to keep looking great.

I traded that for a 2002 ABP TL-S because I wanted something "different" -- I don't regret it at all. Today is the first day since I've had the car that it hasn't rained so it's COVERED with water spots but it still looks fabulous. I've only seen ONE other ABP on the road EVER -- so it would seem that this color is pretty rare here, too. No regrets at all.

I considered 2 colors...pearl white and satin silver...I'm glad I got the silver because I notice that the white one I had for a loaner when I took my car in had discolored. What I mean by that is the bottom part (plastic) changed color, it is somewhat darker shade of white, but I haven't notice that on my silver one yet. I'm gonna wax mine and protect it from gettin too much sun damage...maybe some UV protection?
