Honestly, it doesn't matter which car comes with how many stock horsepower and how many pounds of torque. Because if you start modifying, it's usually the guy with the most money thats going to be faster, or better, or whatever people want it to be nowadays.

New tires typically do not peel as well as broken in tires. I also own a Buick Regal GS with 280 ft. lbs torque, stock. I could peel without much effot with that car, but when I bought new tires for it I noticed that I could not get any peel action going for at least 2,000 miles. I think it has something to do with the surface of the tire. Other factors include road surface, humidity, weight, etc.
