Question Do you guys let dealer to wash your car during service???

Hi guys,
I went to do my service last week... When I picked my car up i saw my car was nice and clean.. so i thought it was nice of them.. but then afterwards i saw swirl marks everywhere, damn! when i wash it myself i always wash it carefully so i don't scratch the paint... anyhow, I will never let them wash it again. so do you guys let the dealer to wash the car?

My dealer always asks me before actually doing it and my NORMAL response is NO THANKS. Although people there are nice, but still... no one knows/cares about your car as much as you do.

Hope this answer your Q

Greenwich Acura washes my car every time it goes in for anything. They do a GREAT job. They really make the car look good, better than any pay car wash around here. They actually do care for your car there.

I let the dealer wash my car. I take it to a smaller shop for oil changes and they wash my car too. It's also done very nicely!

yeah i let them wash my car too... they do a pretty good job.. funny cuz when i first took my odyssey in for service i asked for a wash and they said they don't do that kind of service... there, i guess that shows the extra stuff that acura does do... although i'd still like a courtesy car

Greenwich Acura washes my car after every service. Good job. I'm glad to have them do it with all of the salt and snow we've had around here lately.

My dealer always asks first and I usually take them up on it. They do a real good job both inside and out. Driving a clean car is even better when you didn't have to do the labor yourself!

The two times, I've been to my dealer Paragon Acura they've asked me if they could wash my car. I let them b/c the car is already scratched up so I don't care right now, well at least till, I get it painted. I don't think they ever vaccumm it though. I've always gotten the inside the same way I gave it to them. Sucks.

My dealer cleans the interior and washed it, but they don't do a good job drying my car and i hate those water spots and when you take off and water spills out from the creases. So i don't let them wash her any more.

Rosenthal Acura washed my car the last time at my 7500 mile service. They washed it but did not dry it I had my Absorber in the trunk so I wiped it off. I think the the sevice writer told me at another time when they washed it the stuff will make the water blow off.I wiped it down the last time maybe it works better on lighter cars I have black.

Yeah, I'd let them wash my car. I get scratches from tiny rocks and debris on the frwy anyways. I don't care about swirl marks. Besides, my TL is silver.... swirl marks are not as obvious as on other color TLs.

You have to make sure everything is hand washed. Machine/brush will trash the finish. The Ford dealer I take my SHO to washes cars. I always tell them no, they use one of those brushes on a pole. Even when I bought it from them I told them just remove the stickers and I'll wash it when I get home. They did one of my friends cars when she first bought it, it was black. I wound up buffing the whole thing the next day to get scratches/swirls out.

my dealership washes and vaccums the car everytime and its always been fine. One time they made me wait b/c the paperwork was lost, so the next time I got a quick wax. That wash and wax was far better than if I had spent 2-3 hours on it. I still wash it myself otherwise, but it was cool to get it done anyways.

Guys thanks for sharing your experience.
Seems like most of you let the dealer to wash your car, and satisfy with the job.

Someone suggested that car has to be hand washed not machine, so the paint won't get damaged. In fact my dealer does wash car by hand... but one thing i notice is that they don't fully rinse the car before they start washing it.. so the dirt/dust that left on the car can still scratch the paint..

they didn't scratched my paint too bad.. but you can see swirl under sun light, and my car is black so makes it more obvious. anyhow, the bottom line is that i won't let them wash it again.
