Do these symptoms sound familiar?

Yesterday morning, I was getting onto the highway and pushed the car a little hard, but did not redline it or anything like that, just got the RPMs up there a little while getting on the highway. Anyway, when i slow down to cruise a little, my triangle light goes on, the SRS off light goes on and the check engine light goes on. I pulled off the highway and when i got to the first stop sign, the RPMs dropped to about 200 and the car almost stalled. It was sticking in first and second gear, banged a little into third and then would not really go out of third. THis was all done in automatic, not SS. Does this sound like the tranny is going? I already had one tranny go at 14,000 miles in 9/03. Now i'm at 21,000 miles and i think #2 is on it's way out. Anyone think this can be something else or is it likely the tranny. I am taking it to Park Ave. acura tommorow and they are going to check it out. The check engine light was still on this morning and it was shifting really roughly. If they replace the tranny, do they have to give me a loaner? The guy said they are booked up for loaners. Thanks in advance for any advice.

One other thing. When the RPMs were hitting 200, the lights on the dash dimmed. The RPMs revved up and down and when they were down the D5, check engine and other lights theat were on dimmed, but did not totally go out. I love this car, but it just has so many issues. Thanks again.

Yeah - it sounds like you'll be getting another tranny. If they have no loaners (be sure to bith at them - since this is a major repair that could take a while), you will probably get a rental. At least that's what my dealership does...

Just to update, went to Park Avenue Acura this morning. Dealt with Frank, really nice guy. Turns out that the Throttle Body sensor is no good. They ordered the part and should have it soon and will switch it out for me under warranty. Thanks again. Donny

My throttle body went out as well, the same day my transmission went @ 51k miles.

I paid something outrageous, like $350 for throttlebody and $250 for transmission mounts, and plus installation.

Does anyone know if Acura should be charging me for transmission mounts? Isnt my tranny warrantied up to 100k?

They had my car for 2 weeks over at acura here in socal...

I think that will fix the low revving prob.. I have that too... but the shifting you have described sounds identical to all the failed trannies I have heard described, sorry to say, I hope the throttle body sensor fixes your problem, keep us posted.

Plus how much is the throttle body spacer?? I know you are getting it done under warranty but if possible could you post the price of that part? I think I'll have to order one, that'll fix the "low rpm problem at cold start", problem some of us have been having.

When my tranny went, all it did was sit in reverse and rev.. all the forward gears worked great

Kinda sucks to have to push the car by hand out of a parking spot constantly tho.. so i had them replace the tranny
